The 2009 New York International Fringe Festival, Bay Bridge Productions and Laura Wagner present Union Squared, (www.UnionSquaredTheComedy.com) a new play by David Singer. Union Squared runs Saturday, August 22nd at 3:45pm, Sunday, August 23rd at 8:30pm, Wednesday, August 26th at 3:15pm, Thursday, August 27th at 10:15pm, and Sunday, August 30th at 1:15pm at The Players Theatre (115 MacDougal Street at Minetta Lane).

In this hilarious romantic comedy, Rachel gets a text message from her Wall Street executive husband, Brad that was intended for his mistress, Shannon. Meanwhile, Brad courts his mother, Sophie to release an inheritance that he hopes can save him from his marital and financial messes. Brad soon learns that seduction can backfire - especially with a savvy Jewish mother involved.

The cast features Carlina Ferrari (Scarlet Sees The Light, “Gratuitous Violence”), Anita Keal (From Door to Door, M. Butterfly, Tribute on Broadway), Annie Meisels (“The Education of Max Bickford,” “Six Degrees of Separation,” The Real Thing at the Old Globe and Pasadena Playhouse) and Levi Sochet (Marat/Sade at the Williamstown Theatre Festival, “Sonnets on Tap” at the Public Theater, Ibsen at the Geffen Playhouse).

Union Squared is directed Diana Basmajian (Up, Down, Strange, Charmed, Beauty and Truth for the Fringe at the Cherry Lane Studio Theatre as well as The Twenty-Four Hour Play Company's 24 is 10 for the Fringe at the Lucille Lortel Theatre; Limonade Tous les Jours at 59E59 featuring Austin Pendleton). The costumes are designed by Candice Thompson, the sound is designed by is by Phil Hartley, and the lighting is designed by Daniel Ordower.

Tickets for Union Squared are $15, and the show plays at The Players Theatre (115 MacDougal Street – at Minetta Lane) from August 22-30th, 2009. DAVID S. SINGER (Writer) began writing four years ago. He co-authored Haven: A Play about Refugees and America, which premiered at Fringe Festival NYC in 2004. His first play, DIAGHILEV, was presented by Skidmore College and The Joffrey Ballet in Saratoga Springs, NY in 2007. He wrote a screenplay, BALANCHINE, about the great choreographer’s first collaboration with Igor Stravinsky. Mr. Singer produced David Esbjornson’s production of Tuesdays with Morrie and the Steppenwolf Theater production of Orphans off-Broadway, John Curry’s Ice Dancing on Broadway, and the Academy Award nominated documentary film, Suzanne Farrell: Elusive Muse. Union Squared is his second full-length play.
